FERMA CERTIFICATION


1. Risk Managers must complete 32 credits of instruction in the following areas:

A.  Emergency Response & Crisis Management.........................4 Credits
B.  Employee Benefits..............................................................4 Credits
C.  Health & Wellness..............................................................6 Credits
D.  Principals & Financial Controls.............................................4 Credits
E.  Property & Casualty............................................................5 Credits
F.  Safety & Occupational Health...............................................4 Credits
G.  Workers Compensation.......................................................5 Credits

2.  At least half of the instruction credits must be earned from the Florida Educational Risk
    Management Association.

3.  Records of instruction and certificates shall be the responsibility of the Certification Chairperson.

4.  At least 16 credits of instruction must be attained for re-certification at least every two years.

5.  No credits will be allowed for any instruction received prior to July 1, 1994.

6.  Risk Managers are not required to be certified to do their jobs, however this certification is
    provided on a voluntary basis to enhance professional Risk Management skills.

7.  The membership will set the form and guidelines for evaluation of credits earned outside the
    FERMA organization. This will be evaluated annually at the Summer Conference.

8.  The Member must be in good standing to receive credits and to be certified as a Risk Manager.
